What's on in April
Swindon's the place to be this month with spring fun and half-term activities!
The kids will be on half-term from 7th-18th, so we've come up with a few ideas on how to entertain the little ones.
And if you're looking for some inspiration to wile away those warm weekends - look no further than your friends at SwindonWeb.
The kids will be on half-term from 7th-18th, and although they love a couple of weeks off school, it's not all that fun for parents.
That's why we've compiled a fool-proof list of original things to do, and places to go!
It's A Kids Life
(5th-20th)
Take a step back in time at Lydiard House and walled garden, for a Victorian-era children's trail.
And learning definitely can be fun, as the kids are guided through the estate and sample some of the toys and games Victorian children would have played.
For more information contact Lydiard House on 01793 770401.
Smiley Cats Kids Club
(9-10th, 16-17th)
For crafty hands-on fun, visit the Steam museum for art and craft activities, and fun and games at the Smiley Cats Kids Club.
Open to children aged 4-11, it's a great day out - and they'll be smiling like a Cheshire all the way home.
With the Steam museum just a two-minute walk from the Designer Outlet Village, you could even grab a couple of hours shopping time!
Spring Walk (Sat 26th, 2-4pm)
Led by one of their wardens, the walk will take you through the Estate, taking in the wildlife (including Roe, Fallow and Muntjac deer), and a leisurely stroll past the River Cole, woods and parkland.
There will be a £2 charge for adults and £1 for children - but places are limited, so book yours now!

Frequently inSwindon (Sat 5th - 12pm)
The music scene in Swindon is packed with exciting and unique talent, and this unmissable event (which will bring new acts on the first Saturday of every month) showcases some of the bands that the general public wouldn't normally see.
This month will see performances from rock, punk and funk-influenced Dropstone; covers band Aspheric; all-out indie band The Knott, with the popular Jeff Like Usual finishing the day off.
Sugababes (Tues 22nd)
Embarking on their 2008 tour, the award-winning princesses of pop are set to be a real hit.
Sassy trio, Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range and newest member Amelle Berrabah, recently topped the charts with their hit single 'About You Now', and have held a top 5 position for their current album 'Change'. Unsurprisingly, the event was sold out within days of going on sale - so if you're one of the lucky ones to bag yourself a ticket...enjoy!
FOOTBALL
It's a big month for football in Swindon with all but one of STFC's final matches of the season being played, and two of the game's former stars coming to the town for a charity event.
Swindon Town
Bouncing back from the uncertainty of the Fitton Consortium takeover at the start of the year, they start the month at 15th place in the table.
And the last five matches will be crucial - with four of them being played this month.
Although the play-offs now seem out of reach, we all need to get behind the boys in red over the coming weeks to see them end the season in style.
Forthcoming fixtures:
An evening with Neil 'Razor' Ruddock
and Paul Merson
(Tues 8th - 7pm)
The chance to enjoy an evening of football banter with two of the game's biggest names - Razor Ruddock and Paul Merson, to raise money for four local charities.
And with the Arsenal v Liverpool Champions League match on the big screen, ex-Gunner Merson and former Red Ruddock, doing the commentary!
Kicking off at 7pm at the De Vere hotel in Swindon with dinner and drinks, and followed by the big game - it'll be an action-packed night of two halves.
BOXING
Joe Egan (Sat 12th)
Visiting the Royal Oak on Devizes Road, the former Irish heavyweight champion and Tyson's ex-sparring partner will be signing copies of his book, 'Big Joe Egan'.
Representing Swindon will be our very own Jamie Cox, as well as a number of other personalities.
It's completely free, although donations to the Enzyme Deficiency Charity are welcome.
Big Screen launch (Fri 18th)
The project, fronted by the BBC, will see live television potentially broadcast 24/7.
One of the first aspects of the town centre regeneration to be completed, Wharf Green is set to be a real hit in Swindon.
We'll be following the progress of the big screen, so click back for the latest news and schedule of broadcasts.
'Flashbacks of a Fool' Advance Charity Preview (Thurs 17th - 6.30pm)
Daniel Craig made a real name for himself as Bond in 'Casino Royale' last year so it's no wonder that his latest venture, 'Flashbacks of a Fool', is set to be a real hit with the ladies.
Main man Joe Scot (Daniel Craig), a washed-up Hollywood star whose hedonistic lifestyle has taken it's tole - especially on public opinion.
Living in his Malibu home and shunned by most of his neighbours, it takes a life-changing tragedy for Scot to realise he must face up to the demons of his film star lifestyle.
The preview will be taking place at Empire Cinema, Greenbridge, with proceeds going to baby charity Tommy's.
Liquid & Envy (Mon 21st)
Replacing the old Brunel Rooms, this multi-million pound investment will boast two rooms - Liquid, which is open to everyone, and Envy which is over 23's.
And on Monday 21st, after months of anticipation, the club will finally open its doors to the public.
